HCYSC Edge Rebrands as Greater Firelands

New Name, Same Commitment to Player Development and Community Growth

The Huron County Youth Soccer Club (HCYSC) and Edge FC are proud to announce an exciting new chapter in its legacy of youth soccer excellence: the official launch of its rebranded organization, Greater Firelands Soccer Association (GFSA). This change marks a strategic evolution that reflects our growing presence across the Firelands region, our unwavering commitment to developing players both on and off the field and the increasingly new opportunities we are providing players in the region through our player pathway model.

Anthony Lane, Chief Operating Officer for GFSA, notes “This rebrand represents the professional membership experience we strive for. Providing significantly more affordable programming while delivering high level competitive opportunities”

The rebrand unites all club activities, including recreational leagues, competitive club teams, and player development initiatives, under one cohesive identity. Greater Firelands Soccer Association will serve as a central hub for youth soccer, offering programming for ages 3 to 18 that emphasizes skill-building, sportsmanship, and community connection.

“While our name is changing, our mission remains the same—to foster a lifelong love of soccer and teach life skills through the game,” said Nico Samaniego, CEO of GFSA. “This rebrand better reflects the breadth of the communities we serve and sets the stage for exciting growth, new partnerships, and expanded programming.”

Since its founding, HCYSC and Edge FC have impacted thousands of youth across Huron County and surrounding areas through its commitment to providing quality soccer experiences for all skill levels. The transition to Greater Firelands Soccer Association honors that history while opening new doors for the future.
