Greater Firelands is proud to now offer Recreational Soccer in the heart of Huron. We believe every child should have the chance to learn, play, and grow through the game of soccer. Open to players ages U4 to U14, our program welcomes all skill levels and focuses on skill development, teamwork, and having fun. Through engaging practices and games, we create a supportive environment where kids can build confidence, stay active, and develop a lasting passion for the sport.

What type of cleats should my child wear?
Players may wear soccer cleats or athletic shoes. If choosing cleats, please ensure they are soccer cleats (no front toe cleat like in baseball or football cleats).
Are shin guards required?
Yes, shin guards are mandatory for all players and must be worn underneath socks for every practice and game.
What should my child wear to practices and games?
Comfortable athletic shorts or pants and the team jersey (provided). On colder days, layers like long sleeves or leggings under the uniform are allowed. Avoid clothing with zippers or hoods.

What are practices and games like?

Are there public restrooms available at the fields?
Yes, public restrooms are available at Sofios Park for the convenience of players and spectators.
Is there a concession stand?
Yes! The concession stand is open during game days, offering snacks, drinks, and other refreshments.
What should I do if my player has to miss a practice or a game?
Please notify your coach on Playmetrics as soon as possible so they can plan accordingly.
What happens if there is bad weather?
You will be notified via the PlayMetrics app and if practices or games are canceled due to weather. Always check the app before heading out to the field.
